Smile Studio Penarth is a certified Invisalign practitioner.

The Invisalign treatment can transform your smile and improve your oral health by discreetly straightening your teeth.

There are no metal wires or brackets like traditional braces, which means that Invisalign aligners are comfortable, safe and virtually invisible.

They can be removed for short periods so that you can eat, drink, brush and floss as normal. You can even remove them for a night out or special event when you want to look your best. This means that Invisalign can fit into your daily routine with no fuss or embarrassment.

What is classed as a dental emergency?

It can be hard to know what counts as a dental emergency, and delaying can make the problem worse. Contact us if you are experiencing any of the following:

  • Severe or persistent toothache that is disrupting sleep or daily life
  • Dental abscess or facial swelling requiring urgent assessment
  • Knocked-out or partially dislodged permanent tooth
  • Lost crown, bridge, or filling causing pain or sensitivity
  • Broken or chipped tooth with sharp edges
  • Soft tissue injuries to the mouth, lips, or gums
  • Dental pain following a recent procedure

The team at Smile Studio has extensive experience managing acute dental emergencies. We follow strict General Dental Council guidelines on every emergency consultation and are committed to transparent pricing before any treatment begins. We see both registered patients and new patients for emergency care.

Frequently Asked Questions

In pain and not sure what to do next? We've gathered the answers to what our emergency patients ask most.

Do I need to be registered with the practice to be seen?

No. You do not need to be registered with Smile Studio Penarth to be seen. We welcome new patients for urgent appointments every day, and you can register with us afterwards if you would like ongoing care.

How much does an emergency appointment cost?

Appointments start from £75, with a £50 deposit taken at the time of booking. There are no hidden fees. Your dentist will confirm the cost of any further treatment with you before it begins.

What should I do if a tooth is knocked out?

If it is an adult tooth, pick it up by the crown, never the root, and do not scrub it. Put it back in the socket if you can, or store it in milk. Never try to reinsert a child’s baby tooth. Call us straight away, as time is critical.

Will I be treated at the first appointment, or just given pain relief?

Where possible, your dentist will treat the problem in the same visit to relieve pain and stabilise the tooth. Some cases need a follow-up appointment, and you will leave with a clear plan either way.

What should I do if I need urgent help when you are closed?

The practice is open Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, closed for lunch between 1pm and 2pm. Outside these hours, call NHS 111 Wales for urgent dental advice. For facial swelling affecting breathing or swallowing, go to A&E or call 999.
